As of August 1st, 2008, there were 301 detached single family homes for sale (just over 5 months supply) and 61 condos and townhomes etc. (just over 4.5 months supply). 3-6 months supply is generally considered to be a neutral market (neither a buyers' market nor a sellers' market). Prices in Danville appear to be fairly stable now, at least in the single family home market, although time on market has increased slightly. This suggests that sellers are more optimistic and are willing to wait to get their price. From a buyer's perspective, this appears like a good time to buy. There is plenty of choice and although prices may fall slightly, this is likely to be offset by increasing interest rates.
