Why Choose Danville?
Why choose Danville as a place to live? Ask Danville residents and you will get a lot of different answers but you will soon realize that there are a number of common themes.
Our residents come from all walks of life but when you ask most people who live here what the attraction is, you will typically get responses such as "top-quality schools" or "small-town feel". We don't have many retail chains in Danville and most residents would be happy to keep it that way.
In today's fast moving world it is rare to be able to find a place that still has the feel of a true community, a town where you see people you know when you go down for breakfast or to the farmers' market on a Saturday morning, a town where the shops are almost 100% run by owner operators, not franchise operators, a town where there are individual boutiques, furniture and design stores, restaurants and other businesses where the owners are part of the community. Danville is such a place.
In Danville, there are outstanding recreational facilities, first-class restaurants as well as budget ones, parks, places of worship for all denominations and no significant traffic problems. We have excellent schools at all levels, a diverse population, low crime and high quality of life. Where else would you want to live?
From a practical perspective, Danville is right on the 680 freeway within easy reach of Walnut Creek, Concord, San Jose and even San Francisco and Sacramento as well as being well situated for leisure escapes to wine country, Yosemite or Lake Tahoe. For weekends away we can be in the Napa Valley, on the coast or in the mountains in no time and we have one of the best climates you could imagine.
The only real negative is the relatively high price of Real Estate, but on the plus side, once you are in the market, if the past is anything to go by, you will be hard pressed to find anywhere better to invest your hard earned money. And although prices are high compared with many other parts of the country, they are significantly lower than they used to be since the recent national decline in real estate values.
Danville Neighborhoods
For a town of less than 50,000 people, Danville has an extremely varied range of neighborhoods from small, older (and newer) condominiums avaiable under $500,000 to multi-million dollar mansions with everything else in between. There are older (and newer) developments within walking distance of downtown, traditional homes of all sizes close to town and on the desirable west-side. There are many more modern developments (1970s to the present day) as you travel east along Camino Tassajara and much more besides.
On the left are a number of links that will take you pages that will give you an insight into the various neighborhoods. Please take your time to browse and always feel free to contact me with any questions.
