Neighborhoods in South-West Danville
The south-west of Danville is still, in the main, undeveloped.
Leaving town and heading down San Ramon Valley Boulevard in the direction of San Ramon, we first pass a commercial center which is followed by Danville Green and Diablo View neighborhoods of townhomes and condominiums built in the 1970s. There is then an expanse of farmland with cattle grazing and horses, then having passed by this rural scenery, we come to the southern-most developments on Danville's south-west side, Danville Ranch and California Chateau at Danville Ranch.
There is more to this area than meets the eye and it offers some of the most affordable single family homes in Danville. At first glance, a typical 1980s development, it is immediately apparent after viewing anumber of the homes here that the devlopers have taken advantage of the topography to provide homes with outstanding views. The yards are typically small but the positioning of most of the homes is such that they offer an acceptable level of privacy and although most of them are quite small (under 2,000 square feet) the living areas are typcally very well-designed.
The homes in California Chateau are detached while Danville Ranch homes (which have very different and distinctive architecture) include detached homes and duets.
Up above Danville Ranch and acessed through it via Fountain Springs Circle is Peters Ranch, one of Danville's least well known areas. The homes in Peters Ranch are all custom built estate homes and here can be found some of Danville'smost impresive residences. The lots are huge and the views are amazing. Home prices in Peters Ranch can reach well over $5 million.
